Please read this Payment Policy carefully before using our Service.
1 – Introduction
This Payment Policy explains how payments and payouts work on Avento.
This policy is provided as an overview only and does not replace the Terms of Service. In case of any conflict, the Terms of Service prevail, in particular Section 6 (Orders of Goods), including 6.5 (Payments) and 6.6 (Payment Processing & Buyer Protection).
You can review the full Terms of Service here.
If you have any questions, you can contact us here or directly on lean@aventogear.com / +41 79 943 44 99.

- Discover and Diners Club
- eftpos Australia
- Japan Credit Bureau (JCB)
All payments must be completed exclusively through Avento’s official checkout system.
3 – Payment Processor and Third Parties
Avento uses Stripe as an independent third-party payment processor (“Payment Provider”) to:
- Process card payments
- Hold funds securely during the transaction process (Buyer Protection / escrow-like holding)
- Release funds to Sellers once the transaction is completed in accordance with platform rules
Stripe operates under its own terms and may apply validation, authorization, or compliance checks. If a payment is not authorized by the Buyer’s card issuer, the order may not be completed.
Avento is not responsible for losses, delays, or failures caused by the payment provider’s systems, including cases where Stripe holds funds due to disputes or exceptional circumstances.
4 – Payouts to Sellers
Sellers are paid out to their bank account according to the IBAN submitted during Stripe onboarding.
Payouts occur only after the conditions for payment release have been met (see Section 6 below). Sellers are responsible for ensuring that their payout and bank details are accurate and kept up to date.
5 – Prohibition of Off-Platform Payments
Payments made outside of the Avento platform are strictly prohibited, including but not limited to:
- PayPal
- Bank transfers outside the official checkout
- Cash payments
Off-platform payments are not eligible for Buyer Protection, and Avento assumes no responsibility for fraud, loss, or disputes arising from such transactions.
6 – Release of Funds to Sellers
Avento holds the Buyer’s payment with Stripe until the transaction is completed according to the platform process.

7 – Buyer Protection
Payments on Avento include Buyer Protection through the platform process:
- Payments are held until the Buyer receives and inspects the item, or until the applicable inspection period expires
- Buyer Protection applies to:
- Failure of the Seller to ship, and
- Condition of the item upon delivery, as assessed through the dispute process
Buyer Protection does not cover loss or damage incurred during shipping transit.
8 – Disputes and Payment Holds
If a dispute is opened through the order page:
- Funds remain held with Stripe for the duration of the dispute
- Payments may be held for up to 50 days from the time of dispute, in accordance with the Terms of Service
- Avento resolves disputes in good faith and at its sole discretion, based on the Terms of Service and the information provided by both parties
If a dispute is resolved in favor of the Buyer, a refund may require the item to be returned to the Seller.
9 – Refunds, Fees, and Deductions
Refunds, where applicable, are issued back to the original payment method.
Depending on the reason and circumstances, refunds may be reduced by:
- Payment processing fees
- Service fees
- Reasonable expenses incurred by the Seller in reliance on the existence of the contract, where permitted under the Terms of Service
